Blog Candy Time

Well, I have a mountain of laundry to fold and the potty training continues , but I do have a layout done and a post ready to go.

If you're new to blogging we call give aways "blog candy" because it's so sweet to win them! So here's my first big giveaway. All items are new. You'll receive a moonstruck inkpad, a package of buttons and a cute little stamp set that was created to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina (so I've had it a while, but didn't use it.) Consultants and customers alike may enter to win.

To be eligible to win this prize please post answers the following questions.

  1. What is your favorite summertime activity?
  2. Are you a card maker, scrapbooker or both?
  3. On average, how much time do you spend creating a layout or card? (Please specify if you're talking about a card or layout.)

I will use a website (can't think of it right off hand) to randomly pick a name from the posters. This blog candy contest will expire at noon on Friday August 10th (central time) so don't delay posting :0)

If I get the laundry folded I might try and take a picture of my layout and post it tomorrow.

You are Close To My Heart,

Yvonne

My favorite summertime activity is barbecueing....Love the flavor.
I only make cards, but plan on scrapbooking some day.
I usually spend most of a day making one or two cards. Mostly because I don't know what it will be when I start and I keep adding or changing it as I go. Thanks for a chance!

Hi! I just potty trained my daughter last month. It was much harder than I thought it would be. Don't underestimate the power of bribes!! Here are my answers:
1. gardening (veggie garden)
2. mostly scrapbooker but dabble in cards too
3. With layouts, I am getting much faster. It used to take me 4 hours to do a 2 page spread (12x12). Now I can do one in 30 minutes. Cards are much harder for me to do, but they take about the same amount of time.

My favorite summertime activity...hmmm...camping I guess!! I do love to camp...I just love doing a bunch of other stuff too (like sitting outside making cards and sipping on ice tea!)I am mostly a card maker, but I do scrap too. I can turn out a card in about twenty minutes, usually, but layouts take me forever and a day!!!

My favorite thing to do in the summer is enjoy the heat. it is never too hot for me. I am mostly a stamper but love paper arts in general and try everything form a 10 minute idea to one that takes hours. I get n a groove and can crank them out.

I love spending time with my family in the summer. DH is a tax guy, so summer is really our only down time.

I love scrapbooking and card making! :)

I tend to be a pretty fast creator. Most of my LOs are done in less than 30 minutes. Cards usually take 20 minutes or so. :)

1)My fave summertime activity is grilling--yummy! Although I do it all year round cuz I love it so much ;).
2)I enjoy both for sure!
3)It really depends on the layout, anywhere from 1/2 hour to 3 hours! Cards I can usually do in 15 minutes or so.

Thanks for the chance at some candy. Have fun with your laundry ;)! When you're done, wanna come and do mine? Just thought I'd ask :)...

Thanks for the opportunity for a chance at some blog candy! Here goes:
1. My favorite summertime activity is sleeping in!!!! I said it! I hate waking up and getting three little girls ready and rushing out the door!
2. I mostly make cards but have over the last year gotten into scrapbooking. I enjoy cardmaking more though I have to admit.
3. Cards take about 30 minutes. A layout takes me FOREVER! That is probably why I like cardmaking better! I need more practice at scrapbooking.

Summertime activity - a very lazy one...watching from the hammock next to the pond, the flowers in the garden grow and the fish swimming around in their world of waterlilies.
I do both - cards and pages.
I can usually do a couple of cards, with a sketch, in an hour or so. Two 12x12 pages takes me about 30 minutes hours, if I pull one from the pre-kits that I've put together, otherwise it takes forever!
Thanks for offering the candy!

1. My favorite summertime activity is swimming. I sure wish I had a pool, but I have lots of friends with pools, at least.
2. I am a scrapbooker and card maker.
3. It takes about 20 minutes for me to make a card on average and about 2 hours for a 2-page scrapbook layout.

My favorite summertime activity is enjoying the wonderful hot weather -- I love it! I really don't like cold weather at all and just enjoy the "carefree-ness" of summer -- no worry about coats, bundling up, etc. I'm a scrapbooker for sure and am just getting into making cards. I think my average time for creating a 2-page layout is around 2 or 3 hours . . . and probably the same for a card! Thanks for the blog candy offer!

Potty training happens eventually, no matter what. With my second daughter, I finally decided that if her future husband truly loved her, he wouldn't mind the Pull-Ups at night, and I stopped pulling my hair out over it. One morning, though, she woke up dry, all on her own. Just had to wait it out. :o)

1) My favorite summertime activity is anything in an airconditioned space. I'll do laundry if I have to! (We live in central Texas, and it's hot and HUMID outside right now). I also enjoy waving hello to the weeds in the flowerbed outside the window.
2) I do both, although I've been scrapbooking longer.
3) I usually spend around 45 minutes on a scrapbook layout, although if my "creative mojo" isn't flowing I can take several hours. I usually take about an hour to come up with a card design, and the assembly goes in about 15 minutes, depending on techniques.

Hi Yvonne!

Don't enter me for the prize, I just wanted to play along with the questions...

What is your favorite summertime activity?
Swimming in my pool. I don't like the heat and sweating, so cooling off in the pool is for me! I also like barbecues on our patio with friends.

Are you a card maker, scrapbooker or both?
A little of both. I used to be more of a scrapper, but I'm finding that digital scrapping is easier and faster for me. I love making cards and altering thingamajigs. Brent is always saving various containers, "You wanna cover THIS in paper?" LOL!

On average, how much time do you spend creating a layout or card? (Please specify if you're talking about a card or layout.)

About 1 hour on a 2pg layout, usually more. I'm a perfectionist and my worst critic.

About 30 mins and up for cards.... The last card swap I did (see my blog) took several days to come up with my card... but then putting it together was super fast.

Great blog candy! I'm enjoying your blog.

1. Not a good day to ask me about summertime activities. It's almost 100 out there, and I'm just waiting for fall. :)
2. I am mostly a scrapbooker, but I love cardmaking and other papercrafts.
3. I need at least an hour for a one page LO, sometimes longer. And cards are usually 30 minutes unless I'm making repeats. I'm slow, but it's how I relax so I try not to watch the clock. LOL

Been a long time since I've won anything, might as well try!
Favorite summertime thing...NO SCHOOL THIS SUMMER...lol. I love the smell of bbq and going to somewhere there's water.
Since I have nothing to scrap, I mostly do cards. Not sure how long it takes. I'm pretty fast with the ideas, stamping them clean is harder! Maybe 3-4 hours for 20 cards? Thanks for the opportunity!

3. I could spend all day making cards if I had the time.

My favorite summertime activity is going to visit my folks on the pacific coast in N. Ca. I am mostly a cardmaker but am finally getting into scrapbooking with CTMH. For a double page layout it takes me the better part of two hours - still new and unsure of myself. I can throw together a pretty presentable card though in about 15 minutes.

What is your favorite summertime activity - that would be hanging out in the garden and just enjoying the breeze from the fan.

Are you a card maker, scrapbooker or both - I am both but tend to do cards as well.

On average, how much time do you spend creating a layout or card - Cards don't take me too long...about 1/2 an hour...but layouts, well it can take up to 6 hours for a 2 page spread. I actually feel that if I don't think about it too much, I get it done faster.

Good luck with the potty training :o)

My favorite summertime activity is attending my Son's baseball games. My first love is making cards... Instant Gratification! But I do love cropping too... just haven't used my stamps doing it very often. If I have a plan, I try to whip out 10 or 12 in a couple hours... make great gifts!
This is fun! Thanks!

Hi Yvonne,
Good luck on the potty training. I heard fruit loops works well for boys. They like their target practice! My favorite summertime activity is anything Lindsey has planned out for me. I love to scrap and make cards. I don't get to spend as much time on it as I would like, (read my favorite summertime activity)that is why I enjoy coming to your house. It usually takes me a while to come up with my own ideas.
See you Thurdsday..

Favorite summertime activity - RELAXING (as a teacher on vacation) - Love to be outside - swimming; hanging out at the river; golfing; walking; just sitting in the sun.
My favorite crafting is scrapbooking, but I do enjoy making cards too.
I'm the world's slowest scrapbooker. The best thing for me to do (during school year) is set up a page at almost bedtime, fiddle with it in the morning, and glue it down when I come home for my lunch half-hour. Then I'm not tempted to redo something the next day.
Love your blog Yvonne! It's great to be in contact with you and your family again. (Any chance of you moving back to good ole' Nebraska? I know the answer - bummer - but you can't blame me for asking over and over again!!!)

Are you a card maker, scrapbooker or both? I make cards and scrapbook pages. I think they go hand in hand for me.

On average, how much time do you spend creating a layout or card? (Please specify if you're talking about a card or layout.) Cards are alot easier for me to make. They only take about 10-15 mins.
Scrapbook pages have been known to take me weeks to complete!

I love your blog YW! It is great. Thanks for having blog candy! How fun!!!!

Yvonne,
My favorite summer activity -- SWIMMING (with this alabaster skin, not for too long though).
First and foremost, I am a card maker, although I do love to scrapbook too.
I spend about 30-45 minutes on a card design and rarely make less than 6 at a time (doesn't take too much longer to mass produce). I spend about 1.5-2 hours for a 2 page 12x12 scrapbook spread.

Thanks for the quiz-that was fun.

Happy Blogging,

Catrina

1.)What is your favorite summertime activity? Cooking. Making fun cool dinners and cooking ahead so I don't have to heat up the oven - gives me extra creation time.

2.)Are you a card maker, scrapbooker or both? I am both.

3.)On average, how much time do you spend creating a layout or card? (Please specify if you're talking about a card or layout.) On both cards and layouts, I like to take less than 30 minutes, unless it's extra special or uses some technique, and if so, I try to make extra at the same time to make the most of the extra time spent!

Hi - Since summers get much too hot here, I enjoy staying inside most of the time. I love to golf but generally do that the rest of the year when it is more comfortable. I've been scrapbooking for several years & only recently got into card making also. The time I spend really varies a lot from project to project. Sometimes an hour, and other times several days until I find the perfect touchs to add to the project. Thanks for a chance to win your blog candy.

Thanks!

3. It takes more time than I generally have at each sitting. Some projects sit on the table for a week before I get a chance to complete it.

My favorite summertime activity. Hmmm, does ice cream count? Hehehe =) Actually I love summer foods like watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries, corn on the cob, ice cream, etc.

I am both a stamper and scrapbooker. Started out stamping and that is my first passion, but I enjoy scrappin too.

And how long do I spend on a page/card? It's really hard to say. It mostly depends on if I have an idea in my head/a specific stamp set or paper I want to use or I am just sitting down to see what inspires me. Sometimes I can really putz with pages/cards and sometimes they just go together really quickly.

It usually takes me 1/2 to 1 day to do a card, more for a page. Less time if I group-stamp with family & frineds. I can pick everone else's brains.
