A Little Contest

I made this little card on Saturday because I wanted to see what Indian Corn Blue, Breeze and Key Lime looked like on paper. (See "Playing with Color" post). Anyway...I would have posted sooner, but I have the flu and strep throat! Why am I not in bed? I'm tired of laying down and needed a change of pace. (Thankfully I had already uploaded the picture!). You'll notice that the card is all ready to send. I might be sending it to you! Here's how to play. All you have to do is give a "shout out" of your name and location (first name is ok) and I'll put your name in a drawing. I will be posting the winner on Friday, July 6th and as soon as I get the information to mail it, it'll be off to your house. Anyone know what two Close To My Heart sets I used to make this card? I'll make another one and send it to the first person that guesses the sets :0)

Ok, back to bed for me....

Ever Feel like this?

We finally got a fence up in our back yard. Now I don't have to worry about losing the little ones when they go out to play. It was completed yesterday afternoon so last night when the troops were restless and starting to rough house I sent them outside. It lasted all of a couple of minutes before we saw this. Her nose smashed up against the window told us that she was ready to come in. We let her in shortly after snapping this picture because it was just too funny...(no we don't usually laugh when our children cry).

So, maybe you've tried subscribing and it just didn't work and you're a bit like Angie here. I've made it a little easier by adding a button for you. I would love it if you'd be on my list! Join today :0)

Playing with Color

I am color challenged! I know that red and blue go together, but somewhere after that I'm not so confident in myself. I'm constantly asking my teenage daughter, "Does this look ok?" before I walk out the door wearing what I'm wearing.

That creates a problem when you're the "stamp lady"! How do I know if something works for my project? I have a couple of secrets to share with you.
  • I look at color combinations around me. Just last Sunday (before church started LOL) I noticed the lady sitting in front of me had on the most beautiful combination of Indian Corn Blue, Breeze and Key Lime with a little Vanilla Creme....yum!

  • I refer to a color wheel. I purchased one at the local hardware store and I'm sure it wasn't a huge cost. Colors across from each other on the color wheel work together. Colors in a triangle and those side by side are also good.

  • But here's the best trick of all...I found a website that combines colors for me AND they're Close to My Heart Colors! (I'll put the link in my list of favorite links or you clan click on the title of this blog.)

So, I played yesterday. I chose Taffy which I don't normally get out and I hit the button to see what goes with it. I would have never thought of Taffy, Dutch Blue and Sweet Leaf, but take a look! It works! Now, be aware that some of the color combinations that will be given to you won't work as well as others.

So try those tricks. As for helping you coordinate your wardrobe...you're on your own there. I have enough problems of my own!

p.s. I just discovered that if you click the photos that I post that it will enlarge them for you ;0)

This is all new to me

Hello!

I have recently decided to jump on the blog bandwagon. I have a growing list of favorite blogs that I visit regularly and I've decided that I can also share my thoughts with others. I already know myself and know that I won't be a daily poster. It'll be more like...a random poster. But hey, all you have to do to know when I've posted is to subscribe to my blog. Then you won't miss a thing!

So what's on the list for today? I need to cut paper for my scrapbook workshop tomorrow night. Here's a sneak peek for you. The paper is from the Majestic Blue pack from the Summer 2007 Close To My Heart catalog. My favorite color is blue so this was an easy favorite paper pack for me.
Also on the list for today (or soon) is to update my website! Sheesh it's been forever. I have to get more organized! I know some of you reading this are nodding your head. What can I say? I have 5 kids and life with them slips by so fast.

Someone tell me to get busy! I could play around with this all day!

Oh, I forgot...

Please post a comment to say hi so I know you've been here :0)
